Seems like Arnold will be back…

The latest polling is in and things aren’t looking that great for Democrats.

SurveyUSA. 8/25-28. Likely voters. +/- 4.4%

Schwarzenegger (R) 52
Angelides (D) 38

SurveyUSA has a lot of creditability and it seems so far that Angelides is sliding and the Democrats weren’t able to turn their special election triumph into an election triumph. I personally think Democrats could do a lot worse than the socially moderate Schwarzenegger, despite the fact that he is a former Hitler-admirer, cocaine-user, and former sexual harasser (hey we’ve all been there… right?).

The majority of CA thinks the state is on the right track so who are we to convince them otherwise. I don’t care what any Democrat says he has been a step-up over the inept Grey Davis and he is in the political center. Arnold just took on Grey Davis’ former aide as his chief of staff and supported Democratic initiatives in a bond measure. Similarly Arnold proposed the Climate Action Board on global warming, and defying his Republican buddies in Congress and the White House allocated 150 million more dollars to stem cell research. Both of this steps are the kind of progressive actions we come to expect from the Golden State.

And for you nay-sayers still riding the sinking Angelides ship, I don’t care if those measures were just politics, they were good measures, and they make me look forward to rather than dread a few more years of the Governator.
